CHOOSING
THE BEST THING
Often
times, clients have many reasons and situations as to why they want
to get in better shape. The best reason is because they need to. Long
term health is usually the clients main reason for getting in
better condition. However they sometimes fail to realize this need until
they have incurred serious health problems.
Many
factors influence clients when they first walk into a gym. A nice trainer,
a clean facility and a convenient location are usually deciding factors.
But client beware! The information gathered during their first evaluation
including goal setting is the best thing. Although a friendly trainer
and a clean, convenient location allow for a more enjoyable workout,
I need to ask you, are you getting what you want or are you getting
what you need? There is a difference. Need creates accountability
while want forces compromise. Objective measures are always a sign of
good intent. Continual re-evaluations and progress is a sign of a program
designed for your specific health and fitness needs.
IFC,
as with other training facilities, needs to be accountable to the people
who come in for advice and help. While all trainers want to make their
clients happy, the best thing we need to do, is keep them healthy.
